On the eve of traveling to Qatar to try to get his 27th title with the Bayern Munich shirt, German midfielder Thomas Müller declared his love for the only team he defended in his career. At 31, two-thirds of them lived in the club, the charismatic multi-champion celebrates the rare bond between him and the Bavarian team.
“In the last 20 years, almost 21, I have come to this place to train, compete, give interviews, take pictures. The club and I have a great relationship. It’s a little bit of my home, of course. I’m happy that this relationship lasts so long. It is not normal, it is very special” he said in an exclusive interview for Esporte Espetacular.
Born in Weilheim in Oberbayern, a small town in southern Bavaria, Müller arrived in Bayern at the age of ten. He made his senior debut at 18 in the 2008/09 season. With almost three dozen trophies won, including nine German titles and two UEFA Champions Leagues, and looking for the second Club World Cup, Müller is aiming for even more titles.
