Hired last week by Bayern Munich, striker Douglas Costa was officially introduced this Tuesday by the Bavarian club. At the presentation press conference, the Brazilian player, who returns to the team he defended between 2015 and 2017 on loan from Juventus, was asked about his troubled departure from German football.
At the time, Uli Hoeness, Bayern legend and club president at the time, called Douglas Costa a mercenary. “I don’t live in the past. This matter is over for me. I want to do my best and get fully involved with the team and the club and look for my space,” said Douglas Costa.
Douglas trained for the first time with his new (some old) teammates on Tuesday. “Everything here is as I used to know. It is a challenge to be here. Training is very intense. I already know a lot about Bayern and I am happy to be back.”
