Bayern Munich does not yet know whether left-back David Alaba and midfielder Thiago Alcântara will continue at the club. The two have contracts until the end of June next year, but stays are not guaranteed until then, for different reasons. On Thursday, during the presentation of striker Leroy Sané, club president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge explained the cases.

“Hasan (Salihamidzic, sporting director of the club) had conversations with Thiago, and they were curiously very positive. But he recently told Hasan that he wants to do something new in his career. So far, no club has contacted us to open negotiations” explained Bayern President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Thiago Alcântara has been with Bayern for seven seasons. According to “Bild”, he has already reached an agreement with Liverpool. But so far no official proposal has reached the German club. According to Rummenigge, “Thiago has already made his decision”. David Alaba’s situation is different. He’s been at Bayern for even longer – since 2010/11. The question for your permanence is the salary. The player requires a higher salary. According to Rummenigge, the negotiations so far have not reached a solution, but the club’s intention is to prolong the link with the left-back.
