Bayern Munich announces the signing of Bayern Munich announced on Tuesday the hiring of coach Julian Nagelsmann, from RB Leizpig. Born in Bavaria and only 33 years old, the new coach signed a contract until June 30, 2026 and takes charge of the team from July 1st.

Nagelsmann arrives to replace Hansi Flick, the coach who took over Bayern in November 2019 and won six titles last season, including the Champions League and Club World Cup. Flick, who still had a contract until 2023, asked to leave the club on account of a possible arrangement to lead the German team after the Euro dispute, since Joachim Löw has already announced that he will step down after the tournament.

Despite being new, Nagelsmann has been a coach of the Bundesliga for five years, having initially taken charge of Hoffenheim in 2016 at the age of 28. He was the youngest coach in Bundesliga history and led the club from a relegation zone to a Champions League spot. This season, he keeps Leipzig in contention for the title with three rounds to go.
